But you’re not alone. There’s nothing ‘wrong’ with you. Everyone struggles sometimes. I know what it’s like to struggle. I understand. And I can help you understand, process, and work through the complex feelings that make life difficult.
I’ve met many people who felt hopeless about life, who turned their lives around, in ways that felt almost miraculous. I’ve found that people have more strength and wisdom than they realise. Together, in a warm, non-judgmental, and very safe, confidential environment, we can help you to re-discover that same wisdom and strength in yourself. I can help you process and peel away your pain and problems, to become the happier, better person you want to be.
I can help you understand, process, and work through the complex feelings that make life difficult.
I have extensive experience and understanding of how to help people learn, grow, and become the person that they want to be, through my work as a counsellor, lecturer, and writer. Above all else, the one thing I have learned is that life can get better. By making the decision to look for help, you’ve already started on the path towards a happier life. I’d love to help you on that journey.
My approach to counselling is ‘person-centred’. That means I won’t tell you what to do, how you should think or feel, or that’s there’s anything ‘wrong’ with you. I know that you are the only person who can be an expert on your life, because you are the only person who has had your life experience. You are the only person who can know what you feel, and why.
I believe that with the right support, everyone has the strength and ability within themselves to overcome any emotional difficulties that they might be experiencing. My job is to give you a safe and confidential space where you can feel comfortable enough to say anything that you’re thinking or feeling, to tell the deepest truths you may have never told anyone else.
I provide open, accepting, non-judgemental presence, support, and discussion, to help you uncover, untangle and process the difficult thoughts and emotions which are currently making life hard. Together, we can help you can find peace and understanding, develop solutions that are right for you, and become the person you want to be.
I hope to meet with you soon.
Brian Back
Brian is a wonderful therapist who clearly has a vocation for the work he does. His empathy and perspicacity shine through in every session and his ability to listen attentively has helped me to make sense of my mind and my life. Not only is he an excellent psychologist, he’s also a palpably kind person. I hugely recommend Brian.
